Bishop Minerva Carcaño is the resident bishop of the San Francisco Area, which includes the California-Nevada Conference in the Western Jurisdiction. She was elected to the episcopacy in 2004, the first Hispanic woman ever elected bishop. She previously served in the Phoenix and Los Angeles areas.
